According to NASA, Mars was once sopping wet.
From the article: “Liquid water once flowed through these rocks. It changed their texture, and it changed their chemistry,” said Dr. Steve Squyres of Cornell University, Ithaca, N.Y., principal investigator for the science instruments on Opportunity and its twin, Spirit. “We’ve been able to read the tell-tale clues the water left behind, giving us confidence in that conclusion,” he said.

IE allows malicious websites to spoof legitimate sites in the address bar and status bar, so they suggest typing in URLs by hand:
“The most effective step that you can take to help protect yourself from
malicious hyperlinks is not to click them. Rather, type the URL of your
intended destination in the address bar yourself. By manually typing the URL
in the address bar, you can verify the information that Internet Explorer
uses to access the destination Web site. To do so, type the URL in the

Well, I’ve been busy. After a *wonderful* Christmas, I had a swell trip to Tampa (actually Bradenton) for Damon’s soccer tournament. Not a bad showing, two for four, against some really good nationally-ranked teams. Then, back home for a great New Year, surrounded by family and friends, and then, alas, back to work.
John Paul’s back at school, Ben’s going next week, and Damon’s taking some classes at Quinsig, and running track. League champ in the 300 as we speak! Gabe’s swimming, and is on the board at Earn-A-Bike. Cool stuff! I’ll try to post some of their videos next week.

You can donate your unused frequent flier miles to help troops travel home from Iraq, via a program set up by Maryland Congressman Dutch Ruppersberger. Over a dozen airlines have signed up for the program, including, I’m glad to say US Airways, the airline I’m flying with to Tampa. Many of the airlines have donated miles, and/or will match passenger-donated miles. Good stuff!
